workin' out

This is something I never thought would happen. I'm in a weight room, working out. I gotta get in shape for my new job (I start Monday). Well, I don't excpect to get in shape in less than a week, but I'm building momentum, you know? I've spent the last two weeks riding the "thing-that-looks-like-skiing machine" and the "running-in-place machine" while I watch shows like American Idol and 24.

If there wasn't a TV: forget it.

As a news photographer, I've come to realize that I need to change my eating habits. If I don't take a sack lunch or make certain changes in my diet, then I'm gonna be eating the fast food all the time.

So, I've decided to ban the following fast-food resturants from my diet:

1. Carl's JR
2. Burgerville
3. Chipotle
4. Baja Fresh
5. White Castle

Considering that these places aren't in Greenville, I think I'll be able to stay on top if it pretty well.

I also have realized that I HAVE NO WILLPOWER when it comes to food, so I've decided to make the people around me do most of the hard work.

Thus the following rules for everyone around me:

1. If you see me drinking anything larger than a REGULAR sized soda you are allowed to smack it out of my hand or face - even if I am drinking it.

2. If you are behind me at a fast food drive-thru, I encourage you to ram my car, or at least push my car forward, away from the drive-up window.

3. Have some of my fries. You know I'm gonna order them. Just eat them. Don't ask. Help a guy out.

I think that should help out some.

Oh! Gotta go, my pop tarts are done!

Yes, working out and gettin into a routine is hard .. its better when you have friends either go with you or help you when it comes to dieting and the gym.

Well stick w/ it mr. LLR ... you'll be a well oiled machine in no time :)

Living in Seattle, I have a hard enough time dealing with the months I have to go between trips to Burgerville. I couldn't imagine my withdrawl if I had to live that far away from it.

Um, I've got bad news for you. We have Krystal Burger. Krystal IS White Castle.

Yeah, I figured since I didn't say "krystal" it was some kind of loophole.

Why shoudl I worry about Krystal anyway? The burgers are so tiny!

Thanks for the welcome..I can't wait to start.

Robot,
Speaking as a curious Greenville local, where will you be working? Good luck, wherever it is.

It's just a matter of making it a habit.. do it the same time(s) every week, never re-schedule or figure "I'll do it later". It's gotta be like that first cup of coffee in the morning that you've got to get right after the shower, every time.

I might be mistaken (Lord knows it wouldn't be the first time), but Carl's JR. is the same as Hardee's in Greenville... and it's the closest restaurant to the station (if you discount the short-order restaurant a block away).

Agreeing with Zippy again - Welcome to the family!

Duuh... never mind. You travel too quickly. I assume if you've driven to the station from the loft, you already know about the Angus Beef Thickburgers.

Drat. Another plan spoiled.

Yeah. Hardess was another loophole. Although, after my experience there the other day - no way Im ever eating there (again).

Thanks for the welcome G.

Well, that leaves all of the new and exciting, Southeastern fast food options open to you. Oh yeah, can we ram the back of the live truck if it is going through a drive-thru?

Yeah, sadly the Hardee's closest to the loft AND the one closest to the station are the two most frightening ones in town.

Next week, we'll try to get you over to OJ's Diner for some fried chicken and peach cobbler (that is if you like peaches. I don't. My wife says the cobbler's the best she's ever had)

Yeah, love those Krystal Burgers. They can be decieving, how small and all. I can leave Krystal without ordering at least 4. I will only order 3 if I also get 2 Krystal Chiks on the side.
