bureau

The office is located on the first floor of an old marble building, which isn't in the greatest shape. I didn't think it was bad as some of the crazy stories I've heard over the past few months, but it definitely isn't as luxurious as the Anderson bureau office (which is rather modern, and has: couches, a personal chef, and masseur).

Among the key attractions at the Spartanburg bureau today was: the toilet raised up on a platform like a majestic throne, the old-timey bank vault, and trace evidence of 'furry little friends' who occasionally pay the crews a visit.
Elise gave me a little tour of the office, and I chopped together a quick WMV video.
unrelated items of interest:
I saw this awesome Russian keyboard prototype, called the Optimus Keyboard. Each key is a micro color LCD screen. My supercomputer is starting to look a little less super. It might cost a bunch, but I am totally going to get one if it ever comes out.
I found the perfect t-shirt to wear down here in Nascar country!
I wasn't sure if I was a fan of the Stella show on Comedy Central. I pretty knew what to expect from their short films and the State, but it didn't click with me right away. But last week's office party episode won me over - especially when the "Higher and Higher" workout song from Wet Hot American Summer kicked in over the party games. And now it's stuck in my head forever. Into the fire...it's getting higher and higher...higher and higher...
The fabulous Trent posted a never-aired promo clip from ABC's mega hit, Lost. I am SO GLAD this thing never aired. But, I guess now - thanks to the internet - it kinda did.

That safe is cool as shit. Someone should put it on eBay.
Sweet zombie Jesus, is that promo ridiculous. Between Charlie doing some stupid hobbit jig and the Jin/Michael wife swap dance, I was practically dying.
How must have it felt to be part of the cast on that shoot?
The best thing about going to the Sparkle City used to be the lovely Myra Ruiz... now she's in G-Vegas. So I'm not sure what the appeal is now!
I've seen worse. My old haunt's Klamath Falls bureau is in a former gas station I believe...never saw it for myself. Glad I never once went to KF in the 6 years I was there.
And your post wasn't clear - you were assigned for the day or assigned there permanently? The guy in the white button down shirt doesn't appear to like you...
now how bout a tour of that lovely anderson bureau?
I was only assigned there for the day. Looking back i guess i took out the original opening sentance, which would've made that clearer.
Yeah, the bureau isn't so bad. From all the stories i've been told - i was expecting the nastiest place ever.
I guess it got cleaned up recently, so as soon as my Spartanburg friends gives them to me - I'll have some before/after photos.
Dude.. Your online vids are freakin' hilarious.
Keep 'em coming!
Well, it's not that bad, unless say, something devastating happens, like the AC goes out. Hey, guess what happened today?
Yeah, we apologize for not calling an AC tech sooner, but all of the main newsroom folks were getting massages while nymphs fed us bon-bons.
Ditto Smitty...I'm lovin' the vids...keep 'em coming!
