How did Technotronic suddenly slide into the electronic charts? Coincidence?

TODAY top song? I used to hear that non-stop about 13 years ago.
Oh yeah, while I was back home I cleaned out some old boxes at my parents' houses and found my Technotronic "Pump Up the Jam" single and full length tapes. Yes tapes! Before there was digital.
Now I need to get a tape player to listen to them.
