I had a late night last night, waiting around to interview Olympic gold medalist, Joey Cheek - who has got to be the nicest guy in the world. He plans on giving his $25K prize money to charity (I had no idea they got cash rewards in the games).

While waiting for the athlete's entourage, I waited down below all the live shot platforms and got my gear all set up. I snapped this photo [below] of the big NBC live shot platform. If it were an automobile, it'd be a limousine. There's tons of space, portable heaters, and some sweet gear.

I snapped this next shot to show you some of the preparation that went into making some of the areas around here "media friendly". They cut down all the light poles along the edge of the park, so that they wouldn't block the live platforms.

It's kinda funny to still see them light up each night.

Yo Bot!
Joey Cheek is from my area and I've interviewed him several times. You'll not meet a more righteous dude.
By the way, consider doing a post on how long each day you spend blogging. Many of us are astounded at yor output over thar.
I think you deserve a gold medal...
Agreed. You deserve a gold medal for photog blogging. It's unbelievable how you're cranking out so many post in between shoots, edit, live shots and other fun stuff.
JL, where are those pkgs you were supposed to have for the 11? And we can't misanother live shot in the 6pm show!

That's crazy about the lightpole.
Well, it's a lot easier to blog when I'm working 15 hour days. I seem to always have a moment while I'm waiting for a script to bang out a post or something.
That said, I've taken anough photos (and seen enough crazy stuff) that i don't even have time to post it all. I just do what I can.
