Last night - after a hard day's work - the gang headed across the street to the local pizzeria for a late dinner. I was hungry. I needed to eat, so I just went with what I knew and ordered a basic meat&cheese pizza. Fellow photog, Scotty, decided to be a bit more adventurous and he ordered an little-known Italian delicacy: French Fry Pizza.

I gave in a tried a slice, and it was pretty much what you'd expect. Pizza covered in greasy fries. Kinda weird, I guess.

I was in Torino in September -- if you have a free moment, ask your driver to take you to Fiorio. He'll know where it is. It is a "gelato" -- ice cream -- shop with hands-down some of the best ice cream you will ever have tasted. Also, if you can get out of Torino and head north to the mountains at all, go to Aosta and the town of Cogne (about 15-20 minute drive past Aosta). The entrance to Italy's largest national park -- Parco del Gran Paradiso -- is in Cogne, and you can sit at a local bar and stare out over a beautiful alpine valley and an enormous mountain (approx. 15,000 ft high)
Some NBC flack did a package that ran on KG-Who on how everything in Tourino is "just a little different" than the USA. And she went to a pizza place where they had "American" pizza ... with french fries and HOT DOGS on it. Just goes to show you ... those damn hot dogs are taking over. USA! USA!
