armor
Generally speaking, I'm not hard on electronic equipment. I work hard to take care of my stuff (and the stuff I'm assigned). But, there is one type of item that I have the worst, most random, horrible luck with: LCD screens.

Sensing that my new video iPod's chance of survival drops significantly in my presence, I decided to take a proactive approach to the situation and get it a little suit of armor.

While it nearly doubles the weight of the iPod (something that I'll actually test on the station's mailroom scale tomorrow), the unit is now impervious to everything that may come it's way. Except liquid, I suppose. [one time I accidentally drowned a camera in coffee filled lunchbox]
And now it can say, "Bring the onward!" as my iPod charges into the gloomy dungeon, sword drawn, as it sets forth to slay the green dragon from tales of yore. [please disregard the half-hearted armor metaphor]
Now, if I can only remember to keep it charged...

Gleaming Strike! Sweet!
I always destroy my toys, too... I found a rad camera last year that's completely waterproof and super durable and I don't have to worry about it at all.
Hey, I remember trying to take pictures of a lameass coffee stand in the 'Couv using your brokenass camera. I kept missing because I couldn't get the stand in frame without a viewfinder...and after I finally shot it the coffee shop owner tracked us down at the gas station and asked why we were taking pictures of him. Hey, I have a question for you, how does the Elph do in low light settings?
I'm in the market for a new Digital cam, and I seem to be always taking pictures in the dark

Ha ha. I remember. Good times.

I swear by the Elph. I've had three of them now, but that's not becuase they're cheap - it's becuase I've been a bad caretaker. They're pretty decent int low light. If you took a photo (without flash) in a half-lit room then the shot might be dark, but once you run it through 'auto levels' on photoshopd, you'd be amazed how much the camera really picked-up. Also, the flash is really bright, but if you always use the macro button (the flower) then it redces the flash becuase it thinks you're close to the subject.
long answer, i know. But I love the camera. in the next few months, I'll have Elph #4 riding around in my pocket.
for lcd screens try http://www.overlayplus.com/
I have never been so amazed at how clear and thin they are. I have one on my ipod and dell axim and now I think I am going to get one for my new elph. They don't cost much, and they're not like other screen covers/protectors I've seen. I strongly recommend you try one.
The website looks kinda iffy, but mine always get shipped from a lady in Indiana. ...weird, I know.
