oscars

The Academy Awards are a few hours away, and I'm not feeling any guilt this year. Usually - at about this time - I feel bad that I haven't seen all of the films nominated, since I used to try to see them all. I'd write out all my predictions and yell at the television screen while rooting for my actor/movie.

However, this year I'm not really feeling all that guilty. And, I'm kinda surprised by my ambivalent, "whatever" attitude. Also, the fact that I was too lazy to change the channel from Corky Romano this morning (and ended up watching the entire movie), speaks volumes as to why I probably haven't gotten around to seeing most of the films.

Hey Robot, I know you're a fan of the Ricky Gervais podcast, not sure if you know about this, but most of the shows he Stephen and Karl did for London radio station XFM are available in sections as mp3s at http://www.xfm.co.uk//Sectional.asp?id=4604
Worth a listen if you're having Pilkington withdrawal symptoms!

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you! Such a kind gift from you. Something I never expected.

There was the time you called me a "hack", or the time where you wrote a six paragraph hate mail post and pretended you didn't really know me in real life. And, there's the occasional "everybody hates you" comment or, "I really like your website" comment - which really confuses me. You're playing with my emotions, Anon.

(Of course, this is assuming that everyone who comments anonymously are the same person.)

But, today you've really made me happy. Thanks, Mr. A! I'm gonna go download it right now.
