tuesday

It's Tuesday, and I'm back in action after a relaxing weekend in Savannah. Here's a few items from LLR headquarters.

1. Went to X-men: The Last Stand on Friday. I guess it was an okay movie. But the more I think about it, the more I loathe it. Pointless deaths. Bad dialogue. Horrible wire effects. Of course, none of that stopped the film from pullin' in a ton of cash, so more power to them, I guess. I'm one step closer to juicing-up my home theater and never going to out to the movies again. Anyone else dislike it as much as me?

2. Went to Neighborhoodies last night to order up a custom tee, and I laughed at all their custom Soul Patrol gear. If I saw a Taylor hicks shirt anywhere else, it'd be completely lame, but somehow they make it all look kinda hip and clever.

3. I can't tell you enough about how much I love SpoilerFix. There's a fresh batch of season 3 Lost news tidbits. It's going to be a long, cruel summer.

Like you, the more I reflect on X3, the less I like it. I liked 2 better than the 1st, but my friend say's this one and then the 1st.
I think this one moved around to quick without set up, changed cast without a lot of development and had weaker writing.

Spoilerfix is awesome and I can't wait for season 3 to start after reading what they had there!

LLR...I've told my wife I'm never going to the movies again! ever! Too many people feel that a movie is an open discussion and choose to sit right behind me.

Down with theaters!

I only go to Laurelhurst these days b/c of the talking. And even there I had talkers last time, so I finally said -- out loud for the entire theater -- but directed at the two women behind me -- that I hoped they realized how much they were disturbing the other people watching the movie. You know what else sucks? How the big theaters put the little messages about cell phones but not about talking in general. You shouldn't have got me started on this . . .

A good review of X-Men that says, essentially, the same thing.

Of course, I've never seen any of them...

I agree about the movie. It didn't help that you kept grabbing my leg during the dramatic scenes... but I got over that quicker than the fact that I had no idea why Beast had his own X-Man suit already. I must have missed X-Men 2.5.
And as far as the talking in theaters... don't you think home theater is the reason so many people talk during movies in theaters now? You can sit at home, pop in a DVD, strip down to your skivvies, drink vodka straight from the bottle and make sarcastic comments to your friends through the entire movie. Oh wait... I guess you wouldn't strip down to your skivvies if your friends were there with you. But you get my point.
Love,
Hasser
PS- I can't wait for the Transformers Movie!

Have to agree with you about theaters. I am loathe to go anymore because it is such a hassle for so much money. You wait for the DVD and you don't pay much more than the theater and you get to keep the movie and get extras! If you don't want to keep it, sell it or trade it in! The movie industry whines and whines about how box office numbers are down and want to blame piracy, how about they blame their own greed?

It's not so much that I'm grabbing Hasser's legs as I'm "rubbing my popcorn buttery fingers on Hasser's hirsute kneecaps" - there's a difference.

As for Comicon...I think we should all go as Xmen characters. I'll go as Mystique (shapeshifted into a 32 year-old comic book geek).
